Now that the first five weeks of my official college career have {almost} drawn to a close, there are a few things I've found that I like, and some things that I don't.
Let's just get the negative out of the way first.
1. Food is freakin' expensive...
I never thought I'd say this... But I miss school lunch. It was cheap. And decent.
2. The cliques don't end...
They perpetuate themselves through the college years, and grow while doing it. Expand your horizons people... Make new friends.
3. Work, School, and Mom...
It's hard! School comes first, then mom (she would want it that way), then work. Only 24 hours in a day, and believe me. It's hard to sqeeze them all in.
Now, on to the positive! I promise, this list is much longer... :)
1. The age difference...
I love seeing people here who are around the same age as my parents or older.
2. The cultural diversity...
I see people from all parts of the world, and I think it's a beautiful thing!
3. Freedom!!!
Freedom to choose my own classes, freedom to go anywhere on campus, freedom to hang out with anyone I want!
4. There's ALWAYS something going on on campus...
You don't have to wait for those three times a year something exciting happens in high school.
5. Everybody WANTS to be here...
Obviously, we're all paying to be here, and we're not wasting our time trying to accomodate people who don't care. Hallelujah.
There's definitely more things I do and don't like, but these are the things that are specifically on my mind. So far, I'm really loving college. I was so scared to get here and not know what I wanted to major in and what I wanted to do, but I've found out that it's okay that I don't know. I'm getting an idea, and I'm so excited!
