After the trip is done, and she is gone, what do I have left?
The Memories.
Sure, there are pictures and souvenirs, gifts and trinkets, but items are nothing in comparison to the golden moments locked away in my mind.
Funny isn't it, how I'm about to use pictures to share my memories with you...
This was our route... It is A LOT of driving for 3 days. A LOT.
They are as follows:
A. Ogden
B. Arches
C. Blanding
D. Four Corners
E. The Grand Canyon
F. St. George
G. Cedar City
H. Cove Fort
I. Ogden
The first day, we went to my work for breakfast and ice, (Thanks, guys for hooking me up!) and then we went to the Mazda dealer to service my Roxie. (That's my car for those of you who don't know.) After an hour and a clean bill of health, we hit the road to begin our adventure!
We did a lot of driving, then stopped in Spanish Fork for gas and a bathroom break (we're girls, duh)... We got back on the road for a little while, and then we got STOPPED. In our tracks. For 45 minutes. That darn road construction!!! Oh well, they say it's the unplanned adventures that make for the best memories, and they do.
A whole lotta miles, one more stop and a driver's switch later, we made it to Arches!!! There was so much beautiful scenery along the way. Seriously. Utah? Gorgeous. ...and I'm not biased or anything just because I live here... Just sayin.
After a few hours at Arches, we moved on to Blanding. I'm going to be honest... I wasn't expecting much from Blanding. But it turned out to be beautiful! I'm really glad Violet pushed me to go.
This was at a place called the Edge of the Cedars in Blanding. They are Indian Ruins, and these are pictures of us in a Kiva.

They call this body of water Recapture. It's a bit rocky, and there's some clay, but entirely worth it after a long day in the car! The cool water was SO refreshing.
We stayed at Violet's Grandma Linda's house, she made us dinner and then we slept outside on her porch! Honestly, it was a great night's sleep. I fell asleep underneath the stars, and woke up to the sound of these hummingbirds. There had to be at least twenty of them. It was beautiful.
Of course, since I had never been to Colorado, I had to stop at the Colorado sign on the way to the Four Corners. (We had to cross into Colorado on the way to the Four Corners coming from Utah).
It's a pretty quick drive from Blanding to the Four Corners, about an hour and a half, so we were there before I knew it! We stopped and bought hand-made souvenirs, and then went and jumped into four states at once!!! Hmm... wonder which laws apply when you're in all four... Sigh. I digress!
There's so much awesome that it just can't fit into one post!!!
...to be continued.

Of course the ever-anticipated Arch that Utah is famous for...
The Delicate Arch!
Shout out to Canon for the awesome zoom lens on my camera. After all, we were a couple of girls in 104 degree weather... We weren't willing to spend an hour hiking and sweating. This is a very beautiful view, and we did see it for ourselves! (From a distance).
