What I Hope She Knows

I hope she knows the reason we fight so hard to keep her here is because we love her.

I hope she knows that my heart breaks to see her in pain.

I hope she knows I see beyond her disability - I see my mother.

I hope she knows that despite all that her disease has taken from her, I know she's still there.

I hope she knows she has given me more than she has taken from me.

I hope she knows all of the tears I have cried are not because of her, they are for her.

I hope she knows the reason I'm not always there...

I hope she knows that when I walk out of her room, I leave a piece of my heart with her.

I hope she knows that everything I do is to make her proud.

I hope she knows that even if I make mistakes, I know she will forgive me.

I hope she knows that even if I make decisions I know she wouldn't like, I know she will still love me.

I hope she knows that she gave me a solid foundation - a good one.

I hope she knows that I'm forever grateful for the things she has taught me.

I hope she knows that I cherish our memories... And her stories.

I hope she knows that when I am happy, she is a part of my happiness.

I hope she knows that in the quiet moments, when our eyes meet, I know she is speaking to my soul.

I hope she knows that when she reaches a trembling hand toward me, it warms my heart.

I hope she knows that when people tell me I'm just like her, it makes me proud.

I hope she knows that I am happy I look just like her.

I hope she knows that I have never, not once, been embarrassed of her.

I hope she knows that I know... Just how much she loves me.

I hope she knows that I am so grateful that God made her my mom.

I hope she knows that she is the best mom a girl could ever have.
